The Alpha course is a ten week opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed environment with other individuals who are also exploring Christianity. Each week a different topic is presented in an informal and friendly atmosphere where you may ask questions or just sit and listen. Some topics include: “Who is Jesus?”, “Why Did Jesus Die?”, “How Can I be Sure of My Faith?”, and other questions.
Each Alpha course meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. with a meal. Many individuals attend the course right after work so bring your appetite, don’t worry about dinner and enjoy our hospitality. After dinner there is a presentation on a topic about the Christian faith. After the presentation individuals are given an opportunity to discuss informally in small groups what they thought about the presentation. Some people ask questions, some people don’t, the choice is yours. No one will call on you to answer questions, but if you have questions about the topic here is the time and place to ask them.
Yes! Each Alpha course has child care for children from infants to the 6th grade. Children will enjoy dinner with you and then leave where they will have the opportunity to play with other children while you attend the Alpha course.

About one year ago I started on a Journey called Alpha. I entered into it thinking there is nothing this course can offer me. I have been a Christian my whole life and there was nothing more I could possibly need to know. I was so wrong. I had just received my divorce papers. It was about 90 pages that spelled out for me what I thought was to be the end of my life. I could no longer bear the thought of losing my wife, my family, my home, my life and all I had worked for coming to an end, and there it was in black and white. I gave up hope in everything, including God. If he loved me, where was He? I was in a deep, dark depression and I was just living life going through the motions. I was challenged one night at counceling when I was just about to give up. Do you believe in the words of man or do you believe in the Word of God? I could not answer that question. I went to Alpha that night and the talk was on the Bible and how God speaks to us through it. I wrote it off as being just a coincidence.
During my darkest time three verses were give to me. Jeremiah 29:11, Joel 2:25, and Romans 8:28. These three verses were about the only prayer I could even muster at times. I spent the week after the talk on the Bible reflecting on those verses. Though I was encouraged, my outlook was still bleak. The next Wednesday I went to Alpha as scheduled. The talk that night was on how God guides us. During that talk, the speaker started quoting Jeremiah 29:11. He then went on to mention Joel 2:25 and then ending the entire talk with Romans 8:28. I knew at that moment that this was not a coincidence. I knew that God was not far off watching me suffer but He was with me all the time. His hand was over me. He allowed me to get to my lowest point so that when the time He revealed Himself to me came I would know it was Him without a hint of doubt. That night I gave my life to Him. I experienced for the first time in my entire 33 year “Christian” life God’s love, compassion, sovereignty, and healing. I now live every moment of my life, the good times and the bad, trusting that God is with me and my life is in His hands. He brings perfect peace to my troubled world.
I Know that I am just one of many lives changed by God through the Alpha ministry. I am excited because God has called me to the Alpha team and I get to see God move in the lives of the Alpha guests every session it is held. God is Good!
